Making a card . . .
Yesterday was our wedding anniversary. In the Craft Group in work on Tuesday my colleague suggested that I should be making an anniversary card. Great idea . . . should be simple enough? Of course I would just use a photograph that I had taken. I started the card on Tuesday - see those two wee squiggly lines on the bottom? That was Tuesday's work.
The problem was between Tuesday and yesterday I found I had no time, and suddenly yesterday morning I had to finish the card. 1&1/2 hours later!!! Here was my morning: Choose photo - oh I've only got one that is the right colour! Never mind that it's the wrong season and the wrong flower! Find glue (oh dear, we don't have any stick glue. Glue in a tube is so hard to work with!)
Print off the text. Font too small! Redo label. Twice. Stick label unto card - oops don't put the glue on on top of the photo! Too late. Reprint photograph - too small. Reprint photograph. Too much white edge showing. Reprint photograph. How in the world did the print rub off the text? Reprint text, remove faded one & restick on card. Cut paper for inside. Too big. Trim it off. Still too big, trim another bit off. Write message - put in envelope, just in time to wish my dearly beloved A Happy Anniversary!! Reminder to self "this is why you take photos and don't try to make cards - next time go and buy one - quicker and cheaper!"

The card (on the right) with lily of the valley was one of my favorites.
We attended a golden anniversary party for Carl and Shari Berger. Their daughter assembled a display of cards they'd received at their wedding. I just loved the colors and motifs!

The one of the bride looking at Mary is somehow a bit unsettling, though...
