Greetings from Peoria Illinois

Nate and I have a fondness for anything nostalgic. Old movies, bands, music, tv shows, art, fashion, styles from years gone by... you name it, if its retro we probably like it... These things, these eras just seem...well, "Good" to us. It just feels good.

We admire the historical aspect of things in most adventures we embark on. For our honeymoon, we visited Cedar Point at Sandusky, Ohio. While there, I really liked the historic post cards of the park.

Nate being the awesome guy that he is... he remembered, and for my birthday this year he purchased me a huge print of the old fashioned Cedar Point post card.

He then described to me his wonderful idea to create our very own NaRa version of the postcard for Peoria. This is it.... We headed out and took all of the pics on Saturday July 17, wanted fresh ones for this new project together. Worked together to put them in this design and voila... here it is. We really like how it turned out... :D

The search for truth in China (Zhong Guo) can be obscured by illusion. Is that really the Gate of Supreme Harmony behind the scrim? Or is it merely a visual representation of the building printed on the scrim?

Is China preserving the past or rewriting history? In the present, does one see what is really there? Does the future hold the renovations of history, or is China creating it's own, unique form of the future?

In 23 days I took about 2360 photos. I stored the images on a Wolverine 100 gig portable hard disk/card reader device, which worked very well. Over the next few weeks I will publish a few more photos from China, and let you know when a more complete photo essay is on my web site.
